Gidget the sea lion snaps dubious streak

DENVER - Nearly everyone in the Mile High City was surprised by the Denver Broncos 6-0 start under new head coach Josh McDaniels, but perhaps no one was more shocked than the Denver Zoo's prognosticating sea lion, Gidget.
Each week, Gidget picks the winner of the Broncos football game by retrieving one of two footballs thrown into her tank by 9NEWS Sports Anchor Drew Soicher.
In 2009, Gidget picked against the Broncos in each of their first seven games. While most of Denver was disappointed to see the Broncos drop their first game over the weekend to the Baltimore Ravens, Gidget was reportedly pleased to improve her prediction record to 1-6 this season.
Officials at the Denver Zoo say Gidget feels so strongly that her luck has changed, the sea lion has put in a budget request to zoo administrators for a trip to beautiful Las Vegas. They say Gidget's success last week has convinced her she can win big in Sin City.
No word yet on who Gidget likes in the Broncos big Monday Night Football Game on My20 against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. Check 9NEWS at 10 p.m. on Friday to see who she'll pick.
